This particula libs are not part of the Windows SDK from my knowledge. And then even if you not select debugging symbols in project compiler options, it will be inherit from the global compiler options.I have set not to use debugging symbols in the fatal error LNK1104: file "MSVCRTD.lib" cannot be opened. - What I have understood the file msvcrtd.lib should be in the map \Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC\lib, but that file doesn't exist.
- Has anyone a suggestion how I can get out of this mess?
- I know it is difficuilt since you have tons of programs to uninstall.

If this attempt will fail also, at least you would know that the problem is not in VC++ package, but with your Windows environment. I have visual studio 2005 installed on windows. I have a couple other Visual Studio products on my machine and I don't want to completely uninstall everything because some of it takes a long time to set back up.
