Nikon turns their repairs quickly (2 weeks round trip) and without fuss. Nikon would have charged lots and lots of dollars to do the same thing.
Here are my questions: Let's say it's not the memory cards, what is the problem then? We took less then 1000 pictures on it but reported it just after 1 year. My d70 is the classic problem of shutter error "err" on the display. Reply 37) O. They seem to occur with older more heavily used CF cards, with newer CF cards didn't seem to have the problem. I could not believe it when I got the error. To rule out the Compact Flash card(s) as the fault, try a brand new card (not Lexar 80x, as those seem problematic), format in camera and do not field erase images. The solution is pretty simple - all you have to do is dismount your lens and clean the lens contacts, then clean camera contacts and mount the lens back on the the other problem, which i had also and it is not mentioned, is that you might have pressed the depth of field preview button. Your "cleaning" suggestions AND the pictures that indicate where everything is located. I would say that it wouldn't bother me otherwise but knowing I lost five or more photos I really liked, it irks me. Will keep you posted how this works for us! Worth to mention is that the camera had trouble saving pictures and viewing pictures, sometimes the screen just turned itself off.

Even the should be blinking yellow led beside the delete button won't work once I connect it to the computer, so it also doesn't recognize the device.
